On Thursday, February 17 th , at the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors, Sandie Schoell was announced as the selection for this year's OUSC Volunteer of the Year.

Sandie has been associated with our organization for over fourteen years. Her two sons have both come through our program. Chris, her younger son, is currently playing for a team in Northeast Region Premiere. Sandie's husband Gary was one of our intramural coaches and she was always at his side administering the team. For several years, she was also administrator of her son Michael's OUSC Travel Team tending to the finances and travel arrangements. Sandie also serves on the town's Buildings and Grounds Committee as a liaison to the school which helps keep our fields in such good shape.

Sandie has been a fixture at both indoor and outdoor tournaments at our food concession. She continues to work year after year even though her sons have moved on from our program.

In addition, Sandie has been actively involved for the last ten year's in Long Island Junior's Select Olympic Development Program. She is currently the Junior Boys Age Bracket Co-coordinator and assistant to the Boys Program Director.

Her dedication to our community, school district, club and our children has earned her this well deserved recognition.
